Big Shot Ornament card

This was a card from my last holiday card class.  I got the idea from my friend Crista, love it!  I had some questions come up about how to make it, so here's a tutorial.  Let me know if you have any questions.

This card uses the Big Shot Magnetic Movers and Shapers with the Holiday Windows, and a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder-Vintage Wallpaper.
First sandwich the paper inside the embossing folder and run it through the Big Shot.
Next adhere it to the red card like so.
Start with the Big Shot Magnetic die in the lower right corner for the first ornament.
Place the card carefully on top of the die, be sure to fit the half sheet of card stock inside the die cut.
Run the die through the Big Shot, here, it will cut the ornament and score the paper.  If there is any paper hanging out beyond the die it will be cut off.
Move the die up and to the left, but so it still overlaps the other die opening.
You only need to run it through far enough to cut the ornament out.
When you are done it will look like this.
Next Stamp and punch out ornaments using the Delightful Decorations and Ornament Punch.
Add Jewels to the ornaments using the Basic Rhinestones, only $4.95 for 150 gems!
Here is the finished card.  Have fun!
Supplies:  Delightful Decorations stamp set, Real Red, Whisper White, Old Olive, Ornament Punch, Polka Dot Real Red Ribbon, Jewels-Basic Rhinestones, Big Shot Magnetic Movers and Shapers with the Holiday Windows, and a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder-Vintage Wallpaper

Here's Crista Bailey's card, thanks for the great idea.

My Digital Studio Scrap book page

You may have heard me talk about My Digital Studio(MDS) before, but what you may not know is how easy it is for you to put together digital scrapbook pages.

This was a quick page I put together last week, it only took about 5 minutes.  It went together so fast that I decided to put together a few more pages of Ashley with her friends too.  It works great for quick pages.  But the real beauty of this program is that I have tons of stamps, papers, and accents/accessories I can use.  I thought later I would go back and add some buttons and punches to this.

Plus Stampin'Up! keeps adding more downloads that you can buy to add on to your MDS.  If you use another program to do digital scrap booking you can still buy downloads from MDS. There are 2 ways to download your purchases, one is for MDS and the other is for other programs such as Photoshop.  Contact me any time with questions.

Enjoy!

Rhinestone Jewels

I have to share this idea with you all.  A friend and downline, Jeanne, told me the other day you can color the Rhinestone Jewels with a Sharpie marker.  How cool is that, now you can take those beautiful gems and make them any color you want!  I loved the idea so much I made a card right away. Plus we colored the jewels at the card class this past weekend.

First off did you know we even had Rhinestone Jewels in the Stampin'Up! catalog?  They are so fun, and you get a great deal too.  Page 188 of the Idea Book and Catalog, Jewels...
     119246  Basic Rhinestones (150)  $4.95
     119247  Basic Pearls (150)  $4.95

You can shop my Stampin'Up! website anytime 24/7 just CLICK HERE.
That takes you to products, then go to SHOP NOW and look under embellishments.
Or contact me to place an order, tam_morton@earthlink.net.

Check out how easy it was to color the jewels.
I learned to wait and color it after I placed it on the card.  First time I tried coloring I thought it would be great to color it while it was on the sheet (that way if I make a mistake it would not be on the card).  But when I moved the jewel to the card and pushed it down it smeared the color off, so I had to recolor it, and I had a red finger too.  Lesson learned!

First I stamped the snowman, punched him out, colored him and then using the 2-way glue pen I applied glue everywhere I wanted the glitter.  It was fun to dump it!

I used the Sizzix decorative strip, Northern Frost,  to make snowflakes.
I put 2-way glue on the snowflakes to make them sparkle too.
Place a Rhinestone Jewel in the middle of the snowflake.  Did you know you can use your scissors to pick up the jewel and place it so you do not loose the glue off the back, works great.

Colored the jewel with the Sharpie marker.  See above how it does not show up that well.  But now...

Look at that!
And now for the final card.  I love this quick cheap way to make my jewels any color I want to match my cards!

Supplies:  A Cute Christmas stamp set from the Holiday Mini catalog
Baja Breeze, Garden Green, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White card stock.
Ink and Markers:  Baja Breeze, Garden Green, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black.
Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Sizzix Big Shot and Decorative Strip Norther Frost, Jewels-Basic Rhinestones, 2-way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Dimensionals.

Holiday cards

I had a great time this weekend at my holiday card class.  I loved all the cards, chatting with friends and seeing all the wonderful cards they made.  One of my favorite things is seeing how everyone does their own little thing to the cards, and I saw some great cards.  Extra details on the watercolors, candy canes on the snowman card, just to name a couple.

Here are the 3 cards from my November Holiday card class, and then some details about them.  This was a fun class, CLICK HERE for my calendar of events.
